Hawker Chan, World's Cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant is now in the Philippines

Hey guys!

One of the few things that makes me happy is trying out a new dish or a new restaurant. Earlier today, Hawker Chan, known as the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the world opened their first branch here in the Philippines, and that made me ecstatic, because I don't have to go all the way to Singapore just to try their famous Soya Chicken Rice and Noodle.

For those who are not familiar with Hawker Chan, it is a Singapore based restaurant founded by Malaysian Chef Chan Hong Meng, the son of a farmer who relocated to Singapore in the 80s and trained under a Hong Kong chef where he learned to make the now famous Hong Kong Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle.

In 2009, Chan Hong Meng opened a small store at the Chinatown Complex, the largest open-air hawker center in Singapore, there he serve his Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle dish that quickly caught the attention of diners across Singapore.

In July 2016, Michelin's Singapore Guide debuted and awarded Chan Hong Meng one michelin Star for his Soya Sauce Chicken Rice and Noodle, making his dish the world's cheapest michelin-star meal. In the same month, Liao Fan Hawker Chan at 78 Smith street in Singapore was awarded the Bib Gourmand, it is another award under the Michelin system that is given to dining establishments that offer "exceptional good food at moderate prices" which in Singapore is under S$45 according to Michelin.

Finally Hawker Chan is here in the Philippines thanks to FOODEE Global Concepts, they're also the awesome guys who brought Tim Ho Wan(another michelin-starred restaurant) here in our country.

Now let's talk about the food that Hawker Chan offers, they actually offer 4 specialty dishes;
*The famous Soya Sauce Chicken
*Charsiew
*Roasted Pork (my ultimate fave!) and
*Pork Rib
all of those you can enjoy with either rice or noodles at a very affordable price! You can also order their signature combination platter where you can combine any 3 from the mentioned dishes.

They also offer some yummy appetizer, you can also buy the chicken in whole or half, I'll post a snap the menu down below before I end this post for your reference. ;)

Here are some food porn photos!

Signature combination platter with rice and a serving of their seasonal vegetable appetizer.

This signature combination platter with noodles is actually my fave because I'm a noodle girl! Oh, and their sambal sauce is ah-mazing!

Here's their whole chicken.

Oh another thing that I forgot to mention, the photo below shows 2 kinds of chili which is a staple in Hawker Chan service counter, together with the dark, and light soy sauce.

And last but not the least, as promised, a snap of their menu, so you'll already have an idea on what to order when you visit them.

And that's it!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as how I enjoyed writting it!

Visit Hawker Chan Philippines' first branch located at Level 1, Entertainment Mall in SM Mall of Asia. Also, you'll get a chance to fly to Singapore every time you dine from July 2 to August 5,2018. Two lucky winnere will get a chance to Fly to Singapore and enjoy a 3 days 2 nights full board and meal stay, sponsored by FOODEE Global Concepts Inc. and the Singapore Tourism Board.
