Last April 5,2017 at Ascott Bonifacio Global City, Sun Life Financial teamed up with premier health club Fitness First to help more Filipinos get on track with their health and wellness goals through the GoWell program.

GoWell is Sun Life's health and wellness community that promotes holistic wellness through a fit and active lifestyle, eating healthy, and living a balanced life. Riza Mantaring, President and CEO of Sun Life Philippines talks about their partnership with Fitness First.

With the partnership with Fitness First, group classes at select Fitness First branches will be offered to GoWell gold members for free. All participants will receive tokens for attending said GoWell classes. Community workouts will also be mounted jointly by Sun Life GoWell and Fitness First, while Fitness First events will also be supported by GoWell. Moreover, as series of workout videos featuring GoWell ambassador Bubbles Paraiso and Fitness First ambassador Chris Everingham will ne released regularly for the rest of the year via GoWell website and social media to encourage more people to get fit.

Jaymie Pizarro explains about Sun Life GoWell

"With both Sun Life and Fitness First committed to being the Filipinos' partner in their health and wellness journey, the possibilities in the horizon definitely looks exciting" said  Sun Life's Chief Marketing Officer Mylene Lopa. "We aim to spark the Filipinos' enthusiasm to pursue their fitness goals and they can look forward to more incentives from this partnership."

This sentiment was echoed by Mark Ellis, Country Manager of Fitness First Philippines. "Teaming up with Sun Life amd its GoWell program is a natural fit as we share the same vision to help every Filipino go further in life through health and welness. Health is indeed wealth and we are glad to share our core expertise to as many Filipinos as possible through this partnership," he said.

But apart from health and wellness, the partnership will also promote financial literacy. Select Fitness First members will receive Personal Accident insurance from Sun Life, while financial literacy sessions will be conducted for Fitness First instructors.

"Apart from achieving their fitness goals, the partnership with Sun Life will help secure our members and also educate our employees in financial literacy, both of which are significant in attaining a well-balanced lifestyle." Ellis adds.
